Item: Dual XD1222 Car AM/FM/CD player
Problem: No output from radio - CD player worked fine.
Solution: Press and hold reset button in back of faceplate
Story: I got in my truck one day, turned on the radio and it did not work. No sound at all came out of the speakers. Found a CD, plopped it in and it worked fine - just no AM/FM. Tried changing setting - nothing. Noticed that the scan would go up the complete radio dial and not stop. First thought was, the antenna wire fell out or was bad. Checked the connections and all seemed well. Went to a web site and for a different problem, there was a suggestion of doing a reset (the reset button is behind the detachable faceplate). Did that and wow - everything works again (had to reset all the stations). Now the reset button is mentioned in the manual, but NOT in the troubleshooting section! Oh well, glad I did not have to take the radio out.
Lesson: Any electrical item, look for a way to clear the memory - power it down or do a rest if possible.
